Clarence F. Solar

Died peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at the BR Hospice Butterfly Wing, Baton Rouge, LA. He was 81, born August 3, 1934; a native of Morganza, LA He retired from insurance sales and was a Marine veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing country music to his family and friends. He is survived by a son, Dwayne "Bubba" Solar, two daughters, Debora Chustz, Brigette Messina, son-n-law, Randy Messina, a brother, Clayton Solar, eight grandchildren, Aaron Howle and wife Ashley, Courtney Solar, Kirbie Solar, Brittany Messina, Blake Messina, Devin Michot, Travis Solar and Brandon Chustz; thirteen great-grandchildren; former wife and mother of his children, Bertha D. Hood. Preceded in death by this parents, Wallace and Ida Solar, two brothers, Clinton Solar, Andrew Solar, four sisters, Viola Cramer, Eva Nicholas, Edith Ray, and Beatrice Patterson Lemoine. Many thanks to the staff of the Butterfly Wing for their dedication and service. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National PKU Alliance.
