Clarice A. Paul

ZANESVILLE: Clarice A. Paul, 95, of Zanesville, died at 12:35 P.M. on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. She was born November 6, 1917, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Sydney P. and Harriet E. Courtney. She graduated in 1936 from Roseville High School, worked for many years as a cashier at Powell's Market and Paul's Farm Market and was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener and a member of 4 Seasons Gardening Club, and she also loved playing cards.

Surviving are four sons, John David (Carol) Paul of Greenville, SC, Jerry E. Paul of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth L. (Rebecca) Paul of Zanesville, and Roger C. Paul of Otis, OR; four grandchildren, Robin Paul of Greenville, SC, Robert A. Paul of Phoenix, AZ, Kendra Paul of Zanesville, and John M. Paul of Newark; three great grandchildren, Kayla, Nikki, and Rick; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. Paul, who died on November 14, 1990; a grandson Michael E. Paul; and three brothers Merlin, Aubrey and Sydney Courtney.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. with Vigil Service at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 Main Street, Zanesville with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, John at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abbot Home, 1258 Greenwood Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 in memory of Clarice.
