Clark Branscum Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 21, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Clark Latour Branscum, 44, of Sacramento, California. Clark was tragically taken from us in the early hours of December 28, 2024, while on his way to do what he loved most: hunting ducks with his beloved dog, Willow.

Clark was a loving son to parents Wendy Kirkpatrick and Chris Branscum, a beloved husband to Katie Branscum and a devoted father to his two beautiful daughters, Lily and Daisy. Clark was preceded in death by his brother Dean, Grandparents Rosanne and Harry Kirkpatrick and Grandparents Constance and Albert Dean Branscum.

Born August 1, 1980 in Sacramento, California, Clark grew up in East Sacramento, graduating from Jesuit High School in 1999. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2003 and later an Associate's degree in Restaurant Management from the California Culinary Academy.

After several years in the restaurant business Clark found his true calling in farming. In 2016 he took over the family ranch in Marysville, California. It was there that he continued the family tradition of growing rice, adding olives in 2017. The ranch was his pride and joy, a place he loved to share with family and friends.

An avid duck hunter, a passionate Philadelphia Eagles & CU Buffs fan, and a proud conservative, Clark lived life with enthusiasm and spontaneity. The ultimate Disney dad, he cherished every moment spent with his precious daughters. Clark was also well known for his generous spirit - always ready to lend a helping hand and show up for others.

A service to celebrate Clark's life will be held on January 31, 2025, starting at 4 P.M. at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, California. Friends and family are invited to come together to remember his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers contributions can be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, a cause very dear to Clark.

I had the pleasure of being one of Clark´s teachers at Country Day school. In addition, his mother and he traveled to the USSR with all of us on an amazing school trip. I will always hold those memories close at heart. While I did not teach Lily, I did see her on campus many times. Wendy, please know that I still have many fond memories of your boys in my heart. I hope this picture , by of G Graham, will bring a smile to your face. I´ve cherished it since 1991.
