ETHEL DANCE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 21 to Dec. 22, 2018.
Our dear and loving mother, Ethel Tatum Dance, 94, of Martinsburg, WV passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Berkeley Medical Center.
Born July 18, 1924, in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Tatum and Lucinda Weaver Tatum.
She was a member of the Martinsburg Christian Center.
Ethel Tatum Dance was the youngest girl of nine siblings; William H., Laura Smith, Annabelle Wright, Josephine Chapman, John, Sidney, James, George, and Everette; and two surviving sisters-in-law Delma M. Dance and Mildred Tatum.
She is survived by four children, Edward Dance and wife Margaret, Venable Dance and wife Ha, Madeline Dance, and David J. Dance and wife Pamela; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many more great-great-grandchildren that she loved very dearly.
Our mother, Ethel T. Dance was a homemaker and often worked to support her family as a seamstress while our father traveled. She alone was responsible for our care as we traveled to meet our father in places such as France, Hawaii, Ethiopia and many places in between those destinations. And we are very, very thankful for those life experiences.
She always believed in our safety and prayer which she learned from her mother Lucinda Tatum (a prayer warrior and mid-wife). Our mother's love for the Lord was obvious and consistent as she was so often seen praising God through lifting holy hands in worship and praising the Lord.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2018, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, 36 Laing Drive, Martinsburg, WV 25404 with Pastor Rick Farley officiating. Interment and her final resting place will be in Arlington National Cemetery with her late loving husband, Venable E. Dance, Jr Love you dearly and always: mom, Grand-mom, and "Mother Dance."
