Claude "Hoot" SkinnerOGDEN - Claude Vernon Skinner, 79, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at McKay-Dee Hospital from complication of Alzheimer's. He was born October 26, 1925 in Soda Springs, Idaho to George J. and Roxzina Young Skinner. He married Dolores Walker on January 19, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, 102nd Infantry Division. He was a member of the LDS Church. Hoot was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, and trap shooting. He was a skilled auto mechanic and owned and operated H & S Service for over 40 years. Surviving are his wife of almost 58 years, Dolores; three sons, Gary E. (Linda) Skinner, Ogden; Richard P. Skinner, Boulder City, NV; Brett W. (Misti) Skinner, No. Ogden; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother Loren J. Barney Skinner of Soda Springs, ID. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Dee Skinner; daughter Marsha S. Martin; and six brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Infinia Healthcare of Ogden. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
