CLEOPHUS, 79
Morriston - Mr. Cleophus Johnson, 79, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2012. He was born in Blitchton, FL on September 16, 1932 to the late Everett and Mariah Luckey Johnson. Deacon Cleophus Johnson was a member of The Greater Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, choir member and Chairman of the Deacon Board. He loved all sports and enjoyed spending time with his family especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was employed at Yandles Building Supply as a truck driver. His early education was at Pine Grove Elementary School and he graduated from Howard Academy. He served in the US Army for 2 years and 8 years in the Reserve. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Johnson; daughters, Geraldine Johnson and Rosalind (Wagner) Shell, Orlando, FL, Merceda Williams, Morriston, FL, and Tamara Johnson, Chicago, IL; sons, Darell Johnson, Grand Cayman Islands, Cleophus (Karma) Johnson, Marietta, GA, Ret. MSgt. Barney (Sharita) Johnson, San Antonio, TX, Doyle (Della) Johnson, Tampa, FL, Felix (Angelina) Johnson, Ocala, FL, and Adrian Johnson, Morriston, FL; one goddaughter, Dwanette Pullings, Augusta, GA; brothers, Mark Sanders (Gay), Gibston, FL, Robert Johnson, Morriston, FL; sisters, Emma Pullings, Fayetteville, NC, Gladys Williams, Jacksonville, FL, 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Essie (Robert) Clark, Morriston, FL; 4 brothers-in-law, Chester Pullings, Virgil (Lusenia) Pullings, Morriston, FL, Ret. Sgt. Donald (Mary) Pullings, Hutto, TX, Ret. Capt. Jake (Ilene) Pullings, Elgin, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar Johnson and sister, Juanita Chester. Visitation will be held at Sellers Funeral Home (440 SW Broadway, Ocala, FL, 34478) on Friday. January 20, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wake 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sellers Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at The Greater Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Otis Williams, Sr. officiating. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Blitchton, FL.

My family and I offer our sincerest condolences to the Johnson family. I first met Barney (BJ) in 1980, we were room mates at Sembach Air Base Germany, we've lost touch over the year, but I've always been proud and honored to call him my best friend. He loved his father and would often share stories of lessons learned from both his Mom & Dad, lessons that built his character as an honest, respectful, and up-standing young man to all who made his aquaintence. I never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Cleo, but his influence is being felt globally. Our hearts and prayers are with you all druing this time of bereavement.
