To the Frank J. Minter Family: I, Charles Lynn Rogers, am so sad to hear of Mr. Minter passing. I am a man of 66 years old now. When I was a young boy of 11 years old, I had the pleasure to be a fellow worker with him at a Dispensary owned by my late father, Sonny Rogers. This establishment was located at 34th and Woodlawn in the heart of the west end called “Little Africa.” Saturday morning and afternoon it was my job to hand make and package ice cream to sell in the dispensary. My father would leave in the morning and I was in the building with Frank for the rest of the day. I was the only little white boy as far as the eye could see. Those were strange years, but my father had complete faith in Frank to watch over and protect me. I had no fear because of Frank's kind and gentle ways. Everybody loved and respected Frank. This respect was understood through out the neighborhood. We had some amazing experiences with the customers that came into the dispensary in those years so long ago. It was quite an experience for a young white boy. I have no doubt in my mind that during those developing years of my life the impact of Frank's attitude rubbed off on me and taught me a life time of respect for my fellow human beings. It will be a long time before we will see men like Frank Minter and my father ever again. Happy Trails to you Frank. You are my hero, a true gentleman, and a man of peace. Charlie

My deepest sympathy goes to the entire Minter family. My family and I have known Frank all of our lives through Pat's Steakhouse. He and my father became great friends and through that, a friend of the entire family. Frank was very loved by us all, especially by my mother and father. We will never forget Frank singing Amazing Grace at my dear mother's funeral, and how he was an incredible support to our family when our father passed away. Frank reassured us that our parents were in Heaven. His faith in God was like no other. Like he gave us that reassurance and faith, please know that Frank is in Heaven singing with the angels.

Our Prayers go out to the Entire Minter Family. Although, We did not personally know him I can say that his son (Rolando; my barber when in L'Ville)is probably a reflection of his Dad.
