Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 27 to Mar. 28, 2012.
Clinton Hasenauer, 71, of Wallace, died March 25, 2012, at the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.
He was born on April 20, 1940, at Wallace. He was the second of four children born to Herbert and Eunice Pace Hasenauer. He grew up near Wallace where he graduated from high school. He attended McCook Community College and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
Clinton was married to Mary Corliss on Aug. 27, 1961, at Stratton, Colo. They made their first home in Denver where Clinton worked for American Machinery and Foundry Company, a contractor for the Titan 1 Missile.
In 1962 they moved back to the farm south of Wallace where he farmed and ranched. During these years, Clinton received the Outstanding Young Farmer Award for Lincoln County and was inducted into the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.
He was active in the Wallace community, serving on the school board, 4-H leader, and was a charter member of the Wallace Community Foundation. He especially enjoyed his work for Christ and sharing the gospel to all he met. He was active with the United Methodist Church at the local, district, and state level and received the Denman Evangelism Award. He was involved with the Gideons, Camp Bethel and supported mission work around the world his entire life. He went to be with his beloved Savior on March 25. He had battled cancer the past 12 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ed Weir; and a nephew, Kurt Fhuere.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary; two sons, Todd (Donalyn) and Seth, of the Wallace community; two daughters, Leia (Bill) Noel and Jill (Patrick) Greff, both of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Bryce, Josi and Emily Hasenauer, Molly, Emma and Lily Noel, Anne and Peter Greff, Garrett Christian and Tucker Hasenauer; two sisters, Verlaine Weir and Jeanette (John) Kilgore, of Wallace; and one brother, Leonard (Joan) Hasenauer, of Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at the Wallace United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Fuller officiating. Burial will be at the Wallace Morningview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Wallace Community Foundation, Camp Bethel and Gideons International.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

One of the finest Christian brothers I have ever been privileged to meet and know. Clinton was one of those whose word and walk, by God's grace, were not very far apart. I don't know of many times when I called to say "Hi" after I moved a way that he didn't offer to stop and pray for me...even in the midst of his battle with cancer.

He even used the journey he took, as he battled with the strength only God could have given, as a opportunity to share the love of Christ! Thank you Clinton for being such a faithful wittness! Matt. 6:25-33
