Family and friends joined together for the service at St Luke's Church, Whaley Thorns, which preceded cremation at Mansfield of Mr Clive Walker (76), of Cavendish Street, Langwith. Born at the Old Hall, Upper Langwith, Mr Walker was educated at Langwith Bassett and Whaley Thorns schools and had lived locally all his life. Mr Walker had worked as an underground fitter at Langwith, Pleasley and Shirebrook collieries retiring in 1985. His interests included sport, gardening, watching television and going on holidays abroad. Mr Walker, who died at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton, leaves his wife, Mrs June Walker, two daughters, Jayne and Carolyn, and five grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Victoria, Michael and Marc.
