Clorinda (Linda) Marchese Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2025.
Goodyear - Clorinda (Linda) Marchese, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away in Goodyear, Arizona on September 13, 2025 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Born February 28, 1947 in Latham, New York, she showed remarkable drive from a young age. After graduating from Mildred Elley Secretarial School, she began her career at 19 as the Executive Secretary for the Assistant Commissioner of Education for the State of New York - an accomplishment that reflected her talent, intelligence, diligence and poise. She was a founding member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA), Albany chapter.

In 1979, Linda and her family moved to Cortland, New York, where she devoted her time to her family life, faith and volunteering. In 1986, with much hesitation, they settled on Cape Cod - ultimately her favorite place - where her home became a gathering place for friends and family for 33 years. She cherished Cape Cod beaches and hosted holidays filled with warmth and love. In late 2018, she moved west to be near her daughter and grandchild, a chapter that brought her tremendous joy.

Linda's impact extended beyond family. She spearheaded Arizona's first duly authorized "Pedaling for Parkinson's" therapy program and proudly joined the state's first cycling class - an inspiring testament to her resilience and commitment to wellness and community.

Linda's life was woven with love, generosity, and a gift for making any house a home. She found joy in cooking, gardening, volunteering and entertaining.

A parishioner of Our Lady Of The Cape in Brewster, her commitment to her community and church will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, children Christina, Matthew, and Aaron; daughter-in-law Kristin; grandchildren Jax, Cortland, and Allegra who lovingly called her "Nonna"; siblings Frank (Karen), Jean Marie (Dan), and MaryEllen (Dan); and many nieces and nephews who adored her. She was predeceased by her parents, Gene and Mary Carlascio and sister Sandra.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 21st at 11:00am at Our Lady Of The Cape in Brewster, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org (http://www.alz.org/) or by calling 203.249.0959 in memory of Linda Marchese.
