NEW ALBANY – Nona Bell Willard Merritt, 82, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Union County Health and Rehab. She was born October 14, 1933, to the late Johnny Edbie Willard and Maybelle Thomas Willard. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had worked at Mohasco and Irwin B. Schwabe Company
Services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Cossey and the Rev. Randy Futral officiating. Burial will be in Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Nobles (Billy) of New Albany, two brothers, James Willard (Linda) of New Albany and Jackie Willard (Gail) of Pinedale.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Everett Merritt; her parents; and three sisters, Doris Garrison, Velma Caples and Johnnie Ruth Gillespie.
Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Willard, Dennis Garrison, Robert Merritt, Ricky Caples, Billy Garrison, John Clark and Keith Merritt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Garrison, David Garrison, Brian Willard, Jason Willard, Randy Yager, Bobby Sappington, Dennis Foster and Bobby Lowry.
Family requests that memorial be made to New Hope Baptist Church.
