Olga Zorc Obituary

Olga S. Zorc, 79, of Gurnee formerly of North Chicago died Monday, October 22, 2007 at Lake Forest Hospital.

Olga was born on August 11, 1928 in North Chicago and on June 21, 1949 married Robert Zorc at Mother of God Church in Waukegan. She had managed various craft stores in the local area until her retirement in 1985. She was a former member of Mother of God Church and currently was a member of Queen of Peace Church, St. Joes KSKJ Lodge #53, was a talented knitter and spent many years doing funeral luncheons at Mother of God and had been very active in various capacities at the church.

Survivors include four sons, Robert (Mary) of Third Lake, IL, James (Kathy) of Ingleside, IL, John (Jayne) of Titusville, Florida, and Thomas Zorc, of Gurnee, IL; one daughter, Olga Marie Zorc of Libertyville, IL; two grandchildren, Matthew Allan and Jackson Robert Zorc to whom Olga was a loving and nurturing grandmother; one sister, Elsie Stupar of Gurnee; and one brother, Frank (Anne) Stupar of Waukegan; one sister-in-law, Joan Stupar of Waukegan; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Olga will always be remembered as a loving and caring role model to all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Zorc on September 13, 1995; two brothers, Joseph Stupar and Anton Oblak; two sistersk, Mary Stupar and Antoinette Brzezinski; as well as her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 25, 2007 at 10:00AM at Queen of Peace Church with Interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.

Friends may gather at the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee from 5-8 PM on Wednesday and 9-10 AM on Thursday at church.

Donations may be made in her memory to the National Diabetes Foundation, American Heart Association or Queen of Peace Church.

Zorc Family....Bill and I (Terrie Zorc) are sorry to hear of Aunt Olgas passing. I will always remember her as a warm, giving aunt and a GREAT COOK! It was at your mom and dads wedding (I was a Junior Bridesmaid) that I met my husband to be, Bill that evening. Please except our Deepest Sympathy.
