Cody REVORD Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2015.
Cody William Revord, 17, of Marquette, died Thursday morning, February 19, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. He put up a valiant struggle from injuries sustained in an accident doing what he loved best, snowboarding. Cody entered this world fighting for his life on September 16, 1997 in Marquette and through his determination and strong will, he overcame a variety of struggles to become the extraordinary young man he was. At the time of his tragic accident, Cody was a junior at Marquette Senior High School, also attending Marquette-Alger Technical Middle College and was a special guest of the Governor at the State of the State address this year representing the Technical Middle College. Cody had a kind heart and infectious smile. He touched the heart of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. To his family he was affectionately known as "Cody Bear." He always had a smile, a hug and something kind to say, naturally brightening everyone's day. In addition to snowboarding, he enjoyed biking, skateboarding and hanging with friends and family. He was hard working, industrious and consistently on the honor roll at Marquette Senior High School. Survivors include his loving parents, Gary and Lori Revord of Marquette; beloved brother, Christian Revord of Marquette; paternal grandfather, Gary Revord of Marquette; maternal grandparents, Barbara Elliott and Delbert Dillinger of Marquette, and Robert and Sue Schultz of Hartford City, IN; aunts and uncles, Todd (Vicky) Revord and Shawn (Tina) Revord, both of Gwinn, Troy (Roland Linde) Revord of New York, NY, Jenifer (Jeff) Nault of Grand Rapids, MI, Robert "Bobby" (Melissa) Schultz of Springdale, AR, Michelle (Adam Grunert) Thierry and Danielle (Michael) Peterson, both of Marquette, and Belinda (Tom) Frazee of Rushville, IN; also surviving are numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Patricia Revord in 2014. Cody's family will greet relatives and friends at Messiah Lutheran Church on Monday beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. The Rev. Amanda Kossow will officiate. Spring burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
