Cody WOITAS Obituary
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Cody E.J. Woitas, the only son of Helen Neil of Calgary, Alberta, on January 8, 2014. Cody was born in Edmonton and later moved to Calgary in 1988. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Masters Degree of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management and was engaged in obtaining his Law Degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. A special service honouring Cody was held at the U. of S. on January 17, 2014. The family would like to thank friends and faculty members of the University for their support and immeasurable kindness. Cody was interested in golf, strength training and fitness and was a passionate traveller. He loved movies, was a connoisseur of live stand-up comedy and an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers. Cody was also a Director of People for Change, an organization helping children in Kenya to receive their schooling, and had a sponsored child.
Cody will be greatly missed by his mother Helen Neil, Al Routhier, Brandi Fisher, stepbrother Alex Neil, stepsister Ashea Neil, uncles Reg (Elsie) Roberts and Clayton (Linda) Woitas, cousins Stacey (Nick) Culo, Bradley (Joanna) Roberts, Josh (Lindsay) Woitas, Carson Woitas and his many friends in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Cody was predeceased in 1980 by his father Gerald (Terry) Woitas.
A Memorial Service to honour Cody will be held at the St. Laurence Anglican Church, 5940 Lakeview Drive S.W., Calgary at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to People for Change (www.peopleforchange.ca), or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, No. 200, 119 - 14 Street, N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 (www.heartandstroke.ca).

Dear Helen
I just learned about Cody's passing. I am absolutely heartbroken by this news. I cannot imagine what this experience must be like for you and your family. I wanted to let you know that I loved Cody deeply and I always will. He was a beautiful person inside and out and I will miss him dearly. Actually, I already do.

Helen and family,
Sorry we are unable to attend Cody's memorial service honoring his life. We did have a chat with him at Harvey and Linda's anniversary and are grateful for that. We were looking forward to a visit from him this summer as he wanted to visit the Woitas family farms in the Calmar area. Our sincere sympathy is extended to you and your family.

I will really miss Cody, I just saw him at the end of Dec and he was so excited to be finishing up his law degree and come back to Calgary. I was so sad to hear the news, he was a great person and my condolences to the family.
