Colin it was amazing to be at the celebration of your life at the Warwick Uniting Church on Tuesday 10 March, 2015.
I of course remembered you as my Civics teacher, Scouts District Commissioner, and friend of the Angell family for three generations.
In my childhood as a kid at Warwick High I am sure that like many others I remember you as a daggy dresser, always at school, shorts and long socks in summer and spring and tie and long pants in winter and autumn.
In your daggy uniform but with a tie you in our WHSS school prefect photo in 1978 there you were proud as punch of this latest crop of grade twelve leaders and of course with those ever present boney kneed.
Now that you and my Dad, have caught up in heaven, now I am sure raucously singing Gang Show songs ad nauseum to the assembled saints. Hopefully dressed in scout uniform not dressed as women a la Gang Show and oh so numerous Warwick Choral Society skits.
Later my wife Donna and I visited you and your loving family in The Oaks and the dementia had stolen your memory but we remembered that insurmountable memory for sibling and family names, your sparkling wit and that studious look down the nose to see what was really going on.
Colin you were an imposing character as Deputy Principal, to your students but the epitome of your faith and standards which you so followed in life.
Heaven is for men such as you Colin; loyal, committed, loving and disciplined.
Oh that I could be half the man that you were Colin, God Bless you as he has blessed us by knowing you as a teacher, fellow worshiper and friend.
To Jean and your family our heartfelt condolences. See you later mate, and yes I would go many a mile to hear yet another red scarfed Gang Show rendition. Rest in Peace.

Mr Dodd, what a great human being you were. From your patience, guidance and good humour as Deputy Principal, to your talent and sportsmanship as a tennis player, I received some very encouraging words from you during some trying teenage years that I will always remember. Thanks mate. Rest in peace.
