I have very fond memories of Colin (my big Brother). The ones that stick most are the times I would be sitting (for what felt like hours) in the cab of one or other of His Chevy trucks. With Colin under the truck yelling "up, down, up, down ....... over and over and over. He was bleeding the clutch, yet again, I was only about 10 yrs old at the time.
Also the time He got lost in the bush at Christmas. Mum was so sure He would be found, He walked out, much to the relief of every one. He was a great Brother in many ways, and a real human being in all ways.

Shelley Freeman here. Colin's 2nd wife. I posted a little tribute on facebook which I will include here. You can also see pictures of Colin and his little Jackie which I posted here on April 17th. Pictures are from the late '80's. Jackie is now 31 years old and has 2 children. I'm so happy that Colin had been able to spend time with them. He got to be a Grandpa. I'm sure that made him very happy. I want to send my condolences to Colin's Family in New Zealand. So sorry for your loss. I did meet some of you all those many years ago. Colin, Jackie and I stayed at Jacque and Don's Farm in Maungaturoto. Wonderful place and very different for a girl who was fresh out of New York City. I have not met Blanca so if you read here I'm sending a hug across the miles. So sorry. But I'm so glad he had you with him these last years.
Here is my tribute from Facebook:
Jackie's Dad and my first husband Colin Freeman passed away early this morning. I thought I would post the sad news as many of my old friends and family knew him. He had just visited with jackie and james in Washington and spent time with his Grandsons Kaleb and Connor. And he passed away in Florida while he was visiting his boys Jason Freeman and Johnny Freeman and I believe he also saw his Step Daughter Shauna. His wife, Blanca flew in from New Zealand where they were living to be at his side. So with living in New Zealand and with these visits he was surrounded by family. I'll remember Colin as a strong, optimistic, wild presence in the world. And he adored his children and grandchildren. Here he is with Jackie Anderson out in the nature that he loved. (I had posted a picture on FB) Another great love of his was boats and being out on the water. Wishing you Fair Winds and Following Seas, Colin...

Colin's great love for his family and friends endures. There can be no doubt how much he loved his family. His good deeds and good wishes will live on in all who knew him. He touched thousands of others in his lifetime, and his works will outlive him by decades. His creations in Los Angeles (many driveways, decks, arbors, gazebos, and home renovations) included the homes of famous celebrities. Leonard Nimoy shared his wit with Colin, funny playful banter. Sharon Stone sent him flowers when he got ill while working on her house. The many people he touched in his church, all over the world in his travels, benefited from his great zest for life and his desire and ability to help. He will be remembered and will be missed.

When I was a kid and Colin came home at the end of the day he would butter the end of a fresh loaf of bread and get a milk bottle out of the fridge. He'd eat them together before going out to tinker on his chevys. He always had the biggest laugh and mad enthusiasm. I will miss him always and loved him dearly.
