Ronald Schaffer

Ronald Schaffer, 73, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in his Green Tree home. He was the beloved husband of Arleen (Schmidt) Schaffer; loving father of Debra (Edward) Larbig, David Schaffer, Donald Schaffer, Susan McGrath, Dave (Vikki) Kertes, Karen (Richard) Pritchard, Kim McCreery and the late Douglas Schaffer; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother of Lorraine Loeffler, Carol Marchetti and Edward Schaffer; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was known for his love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 165 Noble Ave., Crafton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Philip Catholic Church, 50 West Crafton Ave., Pittsburgh.
