1961 – 2016
It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Colleen Theresa Slack (nee Carpenter) on April 1, 2016 in Surrey, BC. A truly inspirational pillar in her parish and community, Colleen is cherished for her selfless, loving and generous spirit, with which she cared devotedly for her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her adoring husband Lyle, her three children, Erin (Jordan) Webber, Justin (Alexandra) Slack, and Samantha (Stephan) Legal. Her 4 grandchildren Charles Webber, Emery Legal, Peyton and Georgia Slack will forever feel this immense loss. She is survived by her parents Roy and Maxine Carpenter and brothers Wade, Brad and Murray, as well as her treasured nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends. Prayers will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Hwy, Langley, on Monday, April 11 at 5:00 p.m. where Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 12 at 11:30 a.m. Fr. Don Larson celebrant. Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14644 72 Ave, Surrey, BC. In accordance with Colleen's spirit of giving and in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the local food bank in her memory.
