Their marriage, which began in 1962, was blessed with seven children, namely Kingsley, Gideon, Nkasiobi, Prince, Queen, Caleb, and Lilian. His family brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

His leadership was marked by integrity and skillfulness, as he successfully led the organization and improved the lives of its members. His dedication and accomplishments led him to travel across the globe to attend conferences and pursue academic pursuits. He also held esteemed positions in the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Postal, Telegraph, and Telephone International (PTTI). An alumnus of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, Nigeria; and a member of the National Economic Intelligence Committee (NEIC) in the Presidency, from 1994 to 1999.

Godwin found solace and guidance in his faith, and he was a devout worshipper at the Assemblies of God Church in Nigeria. His commitment to his religion was evident in his active involvement in community and church development.

I remember how people called you my dad. How much fun it was spending weekends at yours. Those rides in your Passat, visits to your office in Gbaja Surulere. Your singing, and those dance moves. lol. You were such a happy man and su much fun to be around. Totally unfazed by life and its challenges, you stayed happy always. Dee!! You lived a life worth emulating. Go on and sing, dance and crack those jokes of yours in Heaven now sir. Rest In Peace Dee

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a great pillar of love in your family, and we humbly offer our sincere condolences to you and your family.
May Dad's noble soul rest in peace in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father. As Papa showed compassion throughout his exemplary strong legacy, may our loving God, who embodies compassion, comfort and refuge, embrace Papa in His arms and welcome him into heaven.

As your spirit suffers, we ask the Almighty to send his angels to wipe away your tears and embrace you with fatherly comfort during this terrible ordeal.
Once again, we ask you to accept our condolences and hope that our prayers will help you and your beautiful family to feel cared for.
