Connie Sue Harrington

Burlington Township

On May 16, 2016, Connie Sue Harrington of Burlington Township went with the angels to be with her Lord and Savior.

In accordance with Connie's wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of Connie's life will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation in Union City, just west of Arbogast Road on M-60. Visitation will be from 3-5:30 PM on May 19, also at the Lighthouse. Interment will be at Connie was born April 28, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of Fred and Ellen Jane (Reynolds) Shaw. Connie was raised at Lee Lake, but most of all loved being on her grandparent's farm in Burlington. After graduating from Marshall High School in 1969, she married Steve Heuer. Together they had a daughter, Kelli. Connie dearly loved her relationship with Christ, her family, Dan Dunithan and her farm and animals. Connie attended both Argubright Business College, where she studied accounting, and Wright Beauty Academy. She was employed as a hairdresser at Ferrari's as well as out of her home; worked in manufacturing at Eaton's, and was a customer service clerk at Don's Citgo in Union City. People of all ages, relatives or not, called her "Grandma Connie."

Connie lived for her family, but was often known to bring home any animal she felt needed a good place to live. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren, Taylor and Kyler Case, whom she spoiled to the point of rotten. After she wasn't working, she tried to spend more time with her great-grandchildren, as her health allowed. She especially enjoyed time spent with her great-grandchildren Hunter and Brendalynn and singing to them, "Mimi loves you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." Connie was a friend to all. She was generous to a fault. She was fond of saying, "It is what it is" and "Are you serious?!" She never ended a conversation or a visit without saying, "I love you" to everyone. The feeling was mutual.

Left to cherish Connie's memory are her daughter, Kelli (Jeremy Mattinson) Case of Athens; the love of her life, Dan Dunithan of Burlington; her parents, Fred (Ann) Shaw of Battle Creek and Ellen Gilroy of San Benito, TX; her grandchildren Taylor (Brittany) Case and Kyler (Shamayne) Case of Burlington; her great grand-children, Hunter Case and Brendalynn Case of Burlington; a niece and two nephews; and her sister, Lona (Francis) Eraca of Union City. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Harrington; her grandparents, Bill and Lucile Love, and Ralph and Marie Shaw; her son-in-law, Dale Case; her step-father, Eugene Gilroy, and her nephew, Francis J. Eraca, Jr.
