Obituary for Connie Rose McQuigg-Killpack

June 26, 1944 – November 24, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Rose McQuigg-Killpack on November 24, 2024, at the age of 80. Connie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born on June 26, 1944, in Medford, Oregon, Connie was the cherished daughter of Cecil Harry McQuigg (1919–2005) and Mary Lou Gerber (1921–2003). She is survived by her sister, Carol Herbert, and her ten devoted children: Kelly (Dawn), Jordan (Beatriz), Heather (Quinn), Samantha (Scott), Chris (Gayle), Candice (John), Natalie (Chris), Nikki (Mike), Angel (Ben), and Cameron (Hillary).

Affectionately known as "Grandma Rosie," she leaves behind a rich legacy of 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored with her whole heart. She is preceded in death by her first husband Barry W. Killpack, her parents, her brother Paul David McQuigg, and her beloved grandparents Paul Edward and Edna Diana Gerber.

Connie's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She bore her testimony of Jesus Christ often and fiercely, instilling her deep faith in her children and grandchildren. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she cherished her visits to temples, including one memorable trip to the Jordan River Temple, where her love for the sacred filled even the smallest moments.

Connie was an artist at heart, a gifted wordsmith, and a storyteller with a vivid imagination. She shared her talents and passion for life through her artwork (pottery), and her unshakable optimism, which carried her through life's many challenges. Her heart warming stories made you believe Granny Gerber would be there to greet her in heaven, "her white apron blowing in the wind."

Her zest for life extended to her hobbies-she was an avid foodie, a voracious reader, a movie lover, and was on a first-name basis with her Amazon delivery driver. Yet, it was the little things that truly defined Connie: her love of lilacs, her sense of humor and her devotion to her family.

Her children recall her unwavering love, her ability to make everyone feel cherished, and her sense of humor, which never dimmed. Her faith, spunk, and determination were a guiding light for her family and friends.

Connie Rose McQuigg-Killpack's legacy will live on in the lives of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely and the lessons she taught through her example will remain in our hearts forever.

She was a nice lady. I'm a friend of Denver and Jalyssa. She will be missed.

Connie was definitely one of a kind. She was always kind, loving and funny. One thing I will always remember about Connie is her purple hair. Not everyone can getaway with that but Connie sure did and I loved it.
