Connor Joseph Dwyer "Living Life to the Fullest" dies at 24
Connor Joseph Dwyer, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital Cardiovascular Center in Falls Church, VA due to complications from a pulmonary hemorrhage. Connor was just days away from celebrating his 25th birthday.
Connor was born on November 6, 1998 in Falls Church, VA to Elise and Michael Dwyer. He graduated from Potomac Falls High School in 2017 and Northern Virginia Community College in 2021 with a degree in Business Marketing. Connor was described as having a magnetic personality. This helped him excel at his job in customer service. He received many compliments for his dedication, strong work-ethic, compassion, and ability to treat everyone with kindness and respect. His problem-solving and communication skills, coupled with his infectious smile, ensured that people truly felt heard and important.
Connor began developing skill in, what very early on became his passion, hockey. At the age of four, he strapped on his first pair of skates and never looked back. Whether it was ice hockey, roller hockey or street hockey, he was always ready to play! He grew up playing in the Ashburn Inline roller hockey leagues and played ice hockey with his high school team, the Potomac Falls Panthers. After graduating high school, he played ice hockey with the Ashburn Ice House, Haymarket Hockey League, SkateQuest Adult Hockey League, and the Loudoun Street Hockey League. He loved the Washington Capitals, and enjoyed watching practice sessions in Arlington, VA and attending games in

While Hockey was his passion, family and friends were his love. Family gatherings centered on laughter, love, and food. He especially loved spending time with his cousins, catching up, exchanging stories, and enjoying each other's company. He approached everyday with boundless energy and uncompromising love. He had an uncanny ability to see the humor in everyday situations and the stories he told would always result in bursts of contagious laughter. Connor loved to cook and was known for making all kinds of tasty concoctions. He loved to try anything new to eat, but sushi, chicken wings, and anything with seafood were favorites! Connor was a trusted, loyal friend, and teammate. Connor brought his happy spirit and sense of humor to every gathering of family and friends. He will forever be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. To know him was to love him!
Connor is survived by his parents Elise and Michael Dwyer, sister, Brenna Dwyer, 15 aunts and uncles, 21 cousins, 7 second cousins, his hockey family and numerous friends.
A celebration of life for Connor was held on November 6, 2023. Words cannot express the depth of gratitude we feel for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this devastating time. The unwavering kindness, heartfelt messages, and acts of compassion have been a source of immeasurable strength for us. The presence of friends and family, including the extraordinary hospital team, and the outpouring of support we have received, has illuminated the impact Connor had on everyone. In these moments of sorrow, this collective love has provided comfort beyond measure, reminding us that Connor's spirit lives on in the hearts of many. The generosity, kindness, and compassion extended to our family has been a guiding light, inspiring each of us to navigate through this difficult period with courage and resilience. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to say thank-you for sending endless support, empathy, and love. Every gesture has meant the world to us and has truly made a difference as we continue on our journey of acceptance and healing. We will be forever grateful.
