I still think about you every day brother. You're one of the best people I've met in life and you showed everyone how compassionate you were in Afghanistan while helping us all out. I knew when anyone yelled out hey doc you were going to be there to help! I still admire you for the person you was at that age, and truthfully you were wise beyond your years. I miss you greatly and I'm glad I was able to call you my friend

I remember CPL Masterson when we were stationed in Hohenfels together, he was a great guy and I remember when we heard he had passed. We were all devastated and I still think about him a lot. My best to his family and loved ones, and still, im so sorry for your loss.

While I think of Conor every day, it's been a long time since I've visited his Legacy page. It's comforting to me to know that others think of Conor and remember that he lived.

Today, I'll attend the Fort Snelling Memorial Day program to remember and honor not only Conor but and all our fallen and those who have served and are deceased.

Thank you for remembering. Wishing you a safe and peaceful Memorial Day.

The small stone honoring Conor, tucked beneath a tree next to my father's grave in Arlington National Cemetery, has inspired our entire family. Although none of us knew Conor at all, we treasure this little stone and the significance of Conor's sacrifice for our freedoms. My Dad was a proud veteran of WWII, and remained in the reserves his entire life. He would be deeply moved, as we are, by the humble marker of a brave and courageous young man who died protecting the freedoms we all cherish. We honor Conor by sharing his story, along with the photo of the stone in Arlington, with our friends and family on Facebook, and will continue to do so for years to come as our way of honoring Conor and his service and sacrifice for his country.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Masterson Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Conor G. Masterson US Army Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

To the family of Spc. Conor Masterson;
I recently visited my parents' grave in Arlington National Cemetery and
found a small polished stone with Conor's name, rank, and theater of operation, nestled in the roots of a
nearby tree. I wanted you to know
that whenever anyone in our family
visits there, we will tend to his stone
as well, clearing away any leaves
that may cover it. Most of us live on
the East coast and are able to visit
more often than perhaps many of
you can. It's an unusual and
beautiful tribute to him.

To the family of Spc. Conor Masterson:

As you may know, the Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation has honored your loved one at its Memorial Day Sunday worship service (each year in May) … since the time of your fallen hero's ultimate sacrifice. We will continue to pay tribute to our nation's veterans … lest we ever forget!

Now we would like to honor you … as the next-of-kin … who have also paid a great price on the altar of liberty. On Sunday 29 September at 11:00 a.m. we will host a Gold Star Family Sunday.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship … as we pay tribute to your sacrifice. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain (Colonel-Retired) Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “By Dying, We Live.” The special music will be the husband/wife vocal/piano — Wickman Duo. Following the worship experience, your family is invited to attend a social time in our Fellowship Hall … with some light refreshments.

As this historic chapel has limited seating, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (651/286-7296) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans' name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org

If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

Respectfully,

Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with some 300 white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.

The Memorial Garden will be encircled with larger white crosses representing all of the wars of our nation's history and give honor to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Wreaths will be placed at the foot of each 8-foot cross bearing the number of U.S. Service Members killed in each of America's conflicts.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “Freedom:Free, but Costly.” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and there place poppies at each of the crosses. A Memorial Rifle Squad of the Fort Snelling National Cemetery will fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played. Following your visit to the Memorial Garden, your family is invited to attend an informal reception (weather permitting) outside of the Chapel. The Memorial Garden will remain until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 27 May (Memorial Day).

As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. Hey bud, I should of probably left here something for you a long time ago but every now and then I remember you and the good times we had in Germany together, still remember both of us getting to Hohenfels together and taking that class intro to Germany the first week we got there...my fondest memory is when we all went out to Regensburg for sight seeing....we were trying to go back home but couldn't find you and when we finally did you had bought a back pack with a mini Keg of German Beer to take back and share with us. Thanks for being a good friend, you will never be forgotten even after all these years, GOD BLESS you and your family by brother. My name is francisco lopez. Conor was my bunkmate during medic training in San Antonio. We lost touch after we finished but I remember him lowering his head over the edge of the bunk to tell me some random story or joke. We spent alot of time together in training and I am honored to have met him. I was shocked when I found out about his passing. My prayers are with him and his family. My name is Marc Cooper. Somedays I think to myself I should have told him, "don't go, stay here, you have no one to prove anything to." I know it seems selfish but Connor was never selfish and gave his life for me, his family and his country. I remember the last time I hugged him said goodluck and looked in his young eyes with respect he wanted to achieve. He never treated me as the world could. He excepted all nationalities, backgrounds and would give his last dime to me or anyone for a smile. I remember him having so much fun at a party we had before he left. I know this may seem unimportant information , the memory stays with me because it makes me realize that that is how I want to be remembered. He mentioned I want to make my dad happy. He was one of the first people to welcome me up to his apartment in Invergrove Heights. We talked everyday. I live below his apartment for 6 months. I remember so much. I will always remember Conor.....I give the family and all friends encouragement and a smile to remember....Conor's!!! Love you Bro!!! Family welcomed to call me antime. 612-219-4300...thank you

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers today.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

July 13, 2007

My name is SPC Crystal Witte. I just wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss. I had the privelage of meeting Conor when we were in AIT in San Antonio, Tx. Conor was an amazing person who could always make you smile no matter what happened. I got severely injured in Ramadi, Iraq on March 2nd, 2006. When Conor found out he made sure to keep in touch with me. He kept me looking at the bright side of things and always made me laugh when I thought things couldn't get any worse. He truly was an angel to me when I needed one the most. I know that he is in heaven right now looking down on all of you in your time of need. You only need to look up and know that he is with you. Again, I am sorry for your loss. The world needs more people like Conor.

i am truly sorry for you loss. My husband and I had the privilege of training in San Antonio, TX with Conor. He was Curtis', my husbands "battle buddy" During those 4 months of training together, we became such great friends. I will never forget the fun time that we shared, and the memories that we have. Conor was an amazing friend, the best to Curtis. We have a picture hanging in our home of Conor and Curtis sitting in the grass in uniform, and everytime i look at that picture it reminds me of his smile and what an amazing person he was. No matter how bad the situation, he could always make you laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. The world lost an amazing person that day, and heaven gained the greatest of angels. We love you Conor.

July 8, 2007

Please know that as time goes on, your family will remain in our thoughts and prayers. Prayers that God will bless you with comfort and peace, and prayers of thankfulness for the heroes who have sacrificed everything for us. God Bless you and your family.

It is the 4th of July and I would like to thank Conor and his family for their gift of Freedom. It is soldiers like Conor that made America what it is today. I know first hand that Freedom does not come cheaply. I too lost my daughter Katie on 05/02/07, the irony of the situation was just weeks before I heard the news of Conors death from his Grandparents. I cried when talking with them over the phone, not knowing I too would experience the same emotions just weeks later. May God help the family deal with their grief. Thanks again for your ultimate sacrifice!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

WE LOST ANOTHER CORPSMAN/MEDIC TODAY

Another hero is gone lost during a battle in a foreign land
These angels of mercy taken from us much too soon
A knock at the door, a family's heart is broken by the news
That we lost another corpsman/medic today

His buddies in battle know the truth before his family
They will grieve his loss because he was their "Doc"
Their lifeline... their safety net... their friend... their brother is gone
They lost another corpsman/medic today

He was there for them; he was a part of them, the bond between them forever strong.
They knew he had their back, when needed he would come
He hated the calls for him for he knew it was bad
When the call came Corpsman Up or Medic he was there; but now no more for
We lost another corpsman/medic today

As men go to future battles, the corpsman/medic will also go
To be there for his men when they need him the most
Bandaging wounds, giving encouragement, keeping them from deaths door
They lost a friend, a brother, his memory will linger when the words ring out
We lost another corpsman/medic today.

I met Conor only once at a family reunion, he is my great nephew. He approached me and introduced himself, i will never forget his sincerity and respectful attitude. We had fun together at that family barbeque in Davenport Iowa. I am grateful for being able to know him and regret his leaving us. To my nephew Mark, Sandra, Oye and all of his close family, please know that i share your grief. Conor has made an impact on Me as I am sure he has on everybody who has ever met him. He is not gone from us, he is just gone ahead of us.

We hold Connor's memory in the highest esteem for his service to our country and can only wish we had known him personally. The tributes to him in this guestbook attest to his character and you must cherish his memory.

May God Bless each and every one of you and Conor thank you for your bravery and courage. We will will never forget you. God Bless!!

(Part 3 of 4). Lorena, it is very clear that Conor loved you and you were in his every thought. He will always be in your heart even though it is only in memory. As your strength grows each day, so will the understanding of God's purpose and plan for the rest of your life. Whenever you are able to read these words, I know your eyes will be clouded with tears. Please know then, that God has not forsaken you and only His mercy and grace can move aside the tears. (continue to part 4, Weber)

April 13, 2007

(Part 1 of 4). In this world, pain and suffering are made worse without purpose and belief in the one who made us. From what I read about Conor Masterson, he held to these beliefs. He seemed to be a man of great purpose, whose future plans involved serving others. Perhaps, in our lives, an attitude of serving like he had will help further his legacy. For, what better legacy to leave than that of a servant heart. (continue to part 2, Weber)

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
