Allard, Constance Tessier SPRINGFIELD, Va. Constance Tessier Allard passed away on February 13, 2015, after a brief illness. Connie was 97 years old. Born in Cohoes on May 10, 1917, she was the fifth of seven children. A graduate of St. Rose College in Albany, she went on to earn a master's degree at the State University of New York in Albany. Upon graduation she taught French for a couple of years in Fort Ticonderoga. She married U.S. Foreign Service officer, Wilfred P. Allard, also of Cohoes, in 1943. She was his partner at their numerous postings in Panama City, Panama Canal Zone; Lima, Peru; Paris, France; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Vientiane, Laos. When based in Washington, D.C., and upon retirement, Connie drew great pleasure from their activities and community life at Lake Barcroft, where they lived. Connie was a longtime and devoted parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Her family meant everything to her. In addition, she loved sharing time with friends and family, playing bridge, traveling and telling a good story. She is predeceased by her dear husband of 62 years, Bill Allard, and by her beloved daughter, Alice Anne Allard Hurd. She will be dearly missed by her children, Paul Allard and his wife Nancy of Springfield, Va., who cared for her at their home during the last two years of her life, Michele Allard Higginbotham and her husband John of Ottawa, Canada, Donald "Don" Allard and his wife Carolyn of Albany, William "Bill" Allard and his wife Susan of Santa Barbara, Calif., and son-in-law Paul Hurd and his wife Susan of Bellevue, Wash. Connie will be lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Everly Community Funeral Home, 6161 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, Va., on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St Anthony of Padua Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, at 1 p.m., on Thursday, February 19. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Constance T. Allard to either Doctors Without Borders USA (doctorswithoutborders.org or 333 7th Ave., New York, NY 10001-5004) or Catholic Relief Services (crs.org or Catholic Relief Services, P.O. Please know that you will be missed and remembered for the beautiful rings that I have an affinity for. We both seemed to enjoy talking about rings. You are and were a beautiful person and I enjoyed you at the St Anthony's senior luncheons. Will miss you and enjoy your heavenly home Phyllis Aiken

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. When my father died, I found great comfort in the words of Jeremiah 29:11&12. I hope this may bring your family some needed comfort, too.
