This is so sad. Not three days ago, Connie's fellow Algonquin Journalism classmate Morgan Quarry and I were talking about how our Class of 1990 should have a reunion. Very sad news coupled with very find memories.

My condolences to her family and friends.
I will always remember that huge smile beaming and the way she would breeze into a conversation. The flourish and style. The laugh...it was such a warm, full, life-loving laugh. As a fellow j-school grad the fond memories of Connie are many. Her spirit will never be far and her laugh will long echo in my ears. Connie, thank you.

Just learned of this sad news. My deepest sympathies to Ray, Jane and the the extended group of family and friends. I have many fond memories of Connie from Algonquin College and The Citizen. Actually, the last time I saw her was on a warm summer day on the patio at Whispers with Ray. She will be missed. May her soul rest in peace. God bless.

We never had a contest in the Citizen newsroom for biggest, broadest smile and heartiest laugh. But if we had, Connie would have won, hands down. That beautiful smile told you exactly who and what she was, a vibrant woman with an enormous enthusiasm for life. She left far too soon. My condolences to the family.

Dear Ray, Jason, Jane and all of Connie's family, I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
I remember her as vivacious, kind and supportive.
She was also lots of fun, with a wicked sense of humour.
Sending best wishes to the Defalco-Blanchette family.

Ray, Jason, Jane and all of Connie's family:
Hers was a bright light that dimmed way too soon. I remember her as always being full of life and ever there to help pick others back up when they were down. I'll miss her beaming smile, hearty laugh and sense of adventure. And I'll always remember her as Robert Palmer, singing Addicted to Love in the media air band contest. With deepest sympathy. Connie was a beautiful person who was always interested in beauty. I remember that whenever I wrote about beauty treatments in my special advertising features at the Citizen, she'd come up to me in the hall with questions about what the treatment cost, how long it worked, how it felt. She was always eager and curious. She was a special person, and I send my condolences to her caring family and friends.

My thoughts are with you and your family, Ray. Connie was my colleague at the Citizen, and my abiding memory of her is her booming laugh across the newsroom. May you find comfort in knowing she lived life to the full.
