Connie Freese died on July 9 after a brief but devastating illness, likely a complication of lupus. She was the daughter of Fred and June Freese and grew up in Bloomington. As an adult, she lived across the western United States and had successful careers as a restaurant manager, store manager, paralegal, and realtor. Connie and her husband of 32 years, Brett Modrell, had retired in November to Corvallis, Oregon. In addition to Brett, Connie is survived by sisters Susan Freese and Karyl Rice (Byron) and brother Rob Freese. A celebration of Connie's life will be held Saturday, September 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the event center of France 44 Cheese Shop, 4351 France Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN, 55410.
