"Cousins" by marriage. I wish we had met sooner, but so happy for what time we had.

We still miss our neighbor and friend Connie. We were lucky to have those years with her. We bonded over our love of our pets and cooking. She was quite the saucy character and didn't mind telling it like it was. She was a good "mom" to her Colt and Bentley and grandma to Monica's little Yorkie. She loved to try new recipes and was happy to swap hers with the ones I made. We had some good times in her kitchen.
I was also happy to have spent time with Ron, her husband when he was in a local nursing home. I met him through her. He was kind and truly loved Connie. Someone else has moved into her house now since she moved from our neighborhood after Ron passed but we will always miss "the girl next door."

I met Connie and Ron on a Hendershot (Mothers side) family reunion in Parkersburg, WV, Oct. 2014. That's when I met my cousin Ron (my daddy's brother) for the first time. He was in a nursing home. His comment was, "oh, my goodness, you look just like Sue" (my mother).
Ron and Debbie (I also met her then) have passed away, and I will always cherish that time we spent together.
Meeting Connie was definitely a blessing, we "just clicked", like we had always known each other. We visited a few more times, through the years, and so thankful for the time we got to spend together.
Connie shared a LOT of family pictures with me, and told me about family that I had never met. I know the Roby/Robey family are having a great reunion.
I LOVE YOU CONNIE, you'll forever be in my heart.
THANKS FOR GREAT MEMORIES.

My precious Aunt Connie, I have fond and special memories of you. You taught me how to crochet, that was the start to my love of crafting. I still cherish that crocheted item to this day and many other things you've given me. I will miss you very much and so will all the family. I Love You.
