Cooper Lape Obituary
In addition to his mother, survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Ryan Merideth; one brother, Riley Boyer Lape; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Jane Boyer; paternal grandmother, Cozette Lape; three nephews, Wyatt, Ben and Luke Merideth; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, D.K. Lape.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Sikeston. Rev. Geoff Posegate of Sikeston will officiate.
In attempting to list pallbearers, the family has been overwhelmed by the number of people that Cooper called his friends--nearly everyone he met.
They would like to acknowledge all of the many friends that Cooper had in his life. Cooper loved his friends and the family would like to thank them for the parts they each played in Cooper's life.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

I have never, in his life or mine, heard a depth of sorrow and love from our William upon hearing of the loss of your beloved Cooper. I really think Cooper must have had more people who loved him than anyone in the world. All across the country his friends felt compelled to come to Sikeston to honor him and grieve with you. To the Lape Family..
We were so very sorry to learn of the passing of Cooper. In the short time that we have known him through our son, Jonathan, at Ole Miss, we knew he was smart, outgoing, and a true friend to all he knew. He had a wonderful smile and fun spirit. It was on April 30 that we talked to Cooper and he wanted to visit us this summer when he made a trip to Richmond. We will miss that and all the opportunities of getting to know him better, but are thankful for the memories we have of Cooper through the past years. With love and prayers.
