I first met Mrs. Roquemore as she greeted her new kindergarten students and parents in August 1996 at Barton Creek. My first impression: salt of the earth!
She was a parent volunteer's dream--so gracious when she asked, so appreciative when she received.
Just a few weeks ago, I had savored a long and lovely handwritten note from her to acknowledge a memorial to her mother. My last thoughts of her: salt of the earth!
My heart sank today when I learned of her death. My deepest sympathy goes out to her husband, sister, and children.

I am from Bangkok, Thailand. We went to Howard Payne College together in Class 1966. In 2010, we met again at Anna's ranch home. It was a great reunion and she shared her favorite bean salad which I still enjoy making.
My sincere condolences to her husband and family.

Brother Jim,
My heart was so saddened to hear of Mrs. CorLea's tragic accident! She was such a bright & shining light!! After the passing of my Daddy in February she was such an inspiration as you were also. I really wish I could have been here to celebrate her life with so many others, but please know that you were both in my heart! I hope to see you while I am in Austin. May God Bless You & your family during this time!

16 years ago my daughter, Rachel, began her school career in Mrs. Roquemore's kindergarten class at Barton Creek Elementary......and what a perfect start it was.....all because of her first teacher! I was privileged to help in the classroom twice a week, and to have first hand knowledge of what an extraordinary teacher, and beautiful person Mrs. Roquemore was. She was truly a gift - to my daughter, to me, to all her other students, and to the world in general. I am deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of this special person. My thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy, her children, grandchildren, and all the others who held her dear.

Coralea was such an inspiration to me. She touched so many hearts and lives like no other. Her upbeat attitude and positive words lifted everyone off their feet. She will be forever missed. I pray for her family to heal during this difficult time. The one thing I do know is Coralea's love for God and knowing she is with him now is comforting.

Jim and family,
Rich and I were so sorry to hear of Coralea's passing. We so much appreciated her sweet spirit, and loved her playing for our wedding almost 15 years ago. May the Lord give you all comfort in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of the Lord.

So many fond memories.
Especially the music.
So much music!
So many songs!
So many lives touched.
So many spirits lifted.
So many burdens made lighter.
So many hearts made glad.
So many blessings so freely given.
And now, too soon gone--
much too soon.
So hard to believe.
Harder yet to understand.
The world has lost an angel.
By faith, we move ahead.
All right, then,
I'll see you over yonder.

I know that the Lord blessed me richly in the joy of knowing Coralea for the little bit that I did. She was a beautiful, vibrant example of the glow that Christ gives to a human life.

My condolences go out to all of the Roquemore clan. I worked with Coralea at BCE and my son, Jon, was lucky enough to have her as a second grade teacher. She was such an outstanding person, loving, caring and compassionate. She will be greatly missed.

I sorry I won't be able to make it to this service. I was very sad to hear of Coralea's passing. I only had the opportunity to work with her a little while, but she clearly had a powerfully positive impact on the kids and grownups at our school. Reading these other messages people have written about her makes me want to be more like her.

How blessed we were to meet Coralea at David and Eleane's house a few weeks ago and to see her work in action with those beautiful Grandchildren. Todd and Chad, we are especially thinking of you at this time. Oh what a sweet sweet Spirit your Grandmother has. It does remind us that our life is like a vapor.
"He who believes in me will live, and though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die" John 11: 25-26.
We know that Coralea has simply stepped from time into eternity, from this fallen earth into God's glorious paradise.
We Love You,

While we are saddened by our loss of Coralea, we are Blessed to have had her in our lives. She will remain in our hearts and memories as a special lady with a smile on her face, her wonderful laugh, and her generous, caring, giving spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are offered to ease the sadness the family is feeling.

Riley and I wanted to express our sincere sympathy for your great loss. We know that Coralea is in a better place, but our hearts break for the family. I remember being in Bible study with your mom, Eleane. She was so calm and had such a beautiful spirit. Also, I'll never forget her playing the piano for you and me when we practiced for a song we were going to sing at church, and I believe that song was "If We Never Meet Again This Side of Heaven". She played so beautifully. What a sweet lady she was, and I'm sure the best mom and grandmother ever. Our sincere condolences to you and your family and to your dad and brother and family as well. May God give you a peace and comfort as only he can give. Blessings to you all, Iris and Riley Walker

Oh, Coralea, you will be missed so terribly much by so many whose paths you crossed while walking this earth. However, I know Mollie was awaiting your arrival at Heaven's Gate with her waggy tail and quick tongue beside all of your family members and friends who have gone before. It has been a long long time since Mollie has seen a familiar face and your sweet one was always a favorite.
The Heavenly Chorus was in need of a new organist and you were God's first perfect choice. Many will miss the sound of your sweet music here on earth.
Your wonderful qualities of a human being were so great; you had something to share with any and everyone you met. You never met a stranger! You were always full of just the right words for the situation and always dealt them with the perfect touch always with your magnetic smile. You were always so full of life and ready to laugh at almost nothing. No one ever suspected you to have a burden or care with which to recon. I know you had prophet qualities and wisdom as your wisdom was far beyond any I have ever known anyone to have. You ministered to others right along side your husband, you were a perfect pair matched in heaven.
I have so many wonderful memories of you and Jimmy from way back when to fill the huge space in my life left by your sudden entrance into heaven. I will miss you so much and know, as there have already times this week when I ask myself "Where is Coralea when I need her?". My heart certainly aches!!!
You and Jimmy have blessed this family in so many ways I could never begin to list and I know the many friends you leave behind feel the same way. I will always draw from these memories. I am so blessed by the most recent memories of you at the wedding of the tiny baby you were the first to hold when she came home from the hospital so many years ago. It was truly an honor and so special for Jimmy to officiate. Thank you sooo much! Yawl made it such a special week and we will always be so grateful we had the blessing of yawls presence and for the memories. The mental picture of you on wedding night is just how beautiful you looked (thank goodness we have hard copies, as well!). Your outfit was perfect and you truly looked like an angel! I will always remember you this way and many other ways, as well!
I pray for comfort for all of your family, your sister, your children and grandchildren and for your dear sweet husband whose life was so intertwined with yours. I know you will have such a sweet reunion when you see him coming to join you.
Thank you for all the blessings you gave me, they will be truly remembered until I see you again, I pray. You can bopp me anytime you see the need to keep me in line. Just because you are up there doesn't mean you are off the hook...not so fast and easy to get out of this one.
My prayers for comfort and blessing to all who loved you.
I will always love you like a sister!

I knew her as "Corky", a name given to her when we were in Jr. High school. What a memory the pictures have given to me. I wish Jim and her family the comfort that is due to all of them. What a blessing to have been a friend early in her youth.

Coralea was indeed a light that shone in the lives of all who knew her. She had such a positive energy and wit. Her love for life and her kids that she taught was so evident in all she did and her faith overflowed to all around her. We are so blessed to have known her. We are saddened by this terrible loss. Our prayers are with you, Jim and your entire family.

Coralea was a special person to me and indeed to all of those whose paths she crossed. We started the brand-new Brentwood Elementary School together in Mrs. McGee's first grade class in 1951 when the school opened halfway through that school year, and we shared other classes together in the following years there and later at Lamar and McCallum, including choir and orchestra, until our senior year when we both found ourselves at different schools for the first time in our lives: she at Austin High and I at the just opening new Lanier High. I only saw her a few times after that but she remained special to me. I will always remember her nearly constant smile and her teasingly-good nature.

Coralea was without a doubt the friendliest, happiest person I ever meet. There was never a day that she did not greet you with that giant smile. I learned so much from her about kids. She always had a simple solution and positive attitude for all her little ones. God bless you and give you peace and the grace you deserve. Marlys Euscher

Our deepest condolences to Jim and the Roquemore family. Mere words can not describe the love and care Coralea brought to our son as his teacher at BCE. A teaching relationship that she very generously chose to continue in her retirement. Coralea had such a beautiful heart, mind and soul - and a commitment to her kids and her craft that was blessing to behold.

Words cannot express how heavy my heart is. I feel so truly blessed to have gotten to know Miss Coralea over the past year and a half even though I've known her my whole life. I will most definitely, for other reasons now, look back on my wedding day with such an appreciation for both her and Mr. Jimmy who were such a huge part of our special day! I'm so sorry, Mr. Jimmy, Eleane, and John Mark for your loss. May you find comfort and peace in the Lord and know she is with the angels putting in a good word for you! Much love always!

I am so very saddened, as is everyone, to hear of Coralea's passing. She was the sweetest and most caring person and I was very proud to call her my friend.
Our faith is certainly tested at times like this. I know it is difficult to understand a loss like this, but we need to be mindful of the true blessing that she was to us. That should give us the strength to continue on in faith knowing that she would want us to honor her memory in this way.
May God grant the family the peace and strength to carry on in faith.
