Cordell Hubbard Obituary

Mr. Cordell Hubbard passed away Tuesday November 22, 2022 at his residence. Cordell was born to the union of Cardell and Lucy Hubbard on May 28, 1949. He graduated from Buchanan High School and Western Michigan University. Cordell taught school at Niles Public School and Loy Norrix & Central High Schools in Kalamazoo, MI. He is survived by four sisters including Diana (Bishop Eddie) Miller of South Bend IN, and two brothers including Jerry (Rachelle) Hubbard of South Bend IN. Celebration of Life will take place 12 noon Saturday December 3, 2022 with a viewing One-hour prior at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 120 Roberson St. Kalamazoo, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be shared.

My deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him. Mr. Hubbard was one of my favorite teachers at Niles High School.

I am saddened by the sudden transition of Mr. Hubbard. As a former student in his Social Studies class at Kalamazoo Central in 1998-2001, I remember Mr. Hubbard as a very peaceful and helpful teacher. He maintained a classroom that was very clean, very calm, and he was committed to his task to help as many who would receive his guidance. I also knew Mr. Hubbard as one of Mt. Zion´s devoted members. He loved singing in the choir and was always excited to express his love for his church and the Pastor the Reverend Dr. Addis Moore. I am praying for his family and all who were touched by his life. Rest on Mr. Hubbard....
