Corry Rankin

LAKELAND -- Mr. Corry Alan Rankin of Lakeland died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) in San Francisco. He was 25. He was born in Tampa on April 28, 1977. He was a music student and graduated from the Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland. He graduated from Indiana University School of Music and attended the University of Florida and the San Francisco Conservatory. He was a cellist and an instrument maker. He was a featured soloist in the Imperial Symphony Orchestra. He is survived by his father, the Rev. Lawrence Rankin, Lakeland; mother, Trudy Rankin, Lakeland; sister, Jana Rankin Finch, Burlington, N.J.; and paternal grandmother, Katherine Rankin, Lakeland. Memorial donations may be made to the development of a wellness center for clergy families or scholarships for graduating seniors of Harrison School of Performing Arts, in care of College Heights United Methodist Church, 942 South Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33803. Visitation will be 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at College Heights United Methodist Church. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Heath Funeral Chapel.
