Cory Fowler

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Cory Justin Fowler on July 12, 2025, at the age of 47 due to natural causes, leaving a significant void in the hearts of his family and friends.

Cory was born and raised in Grass Valley, CA, where he spent most of his life; he loved Nevada County. He moved to Fernley, NV two years ago to help care for his grandmother, a role he embraced with love, dedication and humor.

In his younger years, Cory was a vibrant presence, known for his athleticism, boundless energy, and undeniable charisma. His days were often spent with friends or family, engaged in sports, or working outdoors surrounded by nature. His next chapter, becoming a father, was undeniably his most cherished; he loved his children with all his heart.

Like many, Cory faced a darker chapter in life. With strength and courage, he found his way through. He embraced a fresh start, devoting himself to family, caring for his grandmother, and renewing connections.

Cory is survived by his mother and stepfather, Georgina and Phil Carmichael; his father and stepmother, Gary and Arlene Fowler; his children, Caitlin Burnett, Siena and Cory Fowler Jr.; his grandchildren, Scarlett and Freya; his brothers, Jeff, Clayton, Lorin, and Dusty; as well as his grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, step-sisters, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

With his easy-going nature, Cory never met a stranger. He simply had a way of making people smile, and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of life will be held for family & friends at a later date.
