Costanza "Connie" Gianino Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 5, 2024.
Costanza "Connie" Gianino, at the blessed age of 93, departed this life for her heavenly home on April 24th, 2024, in the city of Pensacola, Florida. Born in 1930, in the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan, she entered this world and not only touched, but lovingly impacted by example, the lives of many as a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother, revered great-grandmother, and cherished great-great-grandmother.
Life afforded Connie no greater calling than that of her family. She approached her role with selfless dedication, ever-present to provide comfort, wisdom, and the warmth of her love. Her hands, ever-busy, created culinary treasures, crocheting blankets for each child, grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great grandchild, drawing sketches from the heart, and spreading friendship and love among those privileged to know her. She delighted in recollections of youthful days and serene times along the Lake St. Clair's peaceful edge.

Connie's commitment to her faith was unyielding, she attended, with unwavering fidelity, the Christian Lighthouse in Mt. Clemens, MI; Crossroads Apostolic Church in Howell, MI; and finally found solace at New Life Church of Jesus Christ in Concord, NC.

Her memory will be eternally cherished by her son Frank Gianino and his wife Carol, her daughters Gina Gianino Sage and her husband John, along with Tami Gianino Bassette and her husband Scott. We are forever grateful for the love you instilled in us, gave to us, and we will miss you beyond what words could tell. Generations rise to honor her, including 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sisters-in-law Millie Vitagliano, Jacqueline Gianino, and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, and other extended Family. Connie is now joyfully reunited with her beloved husband Salvatore "Sam" Gianino, her dear parents Beniamino and Mary (Knowlton) Vitagliano, her cherished son, John Gianino, and in the of her eternal rest with her siblings Frank, Louie, Josephine, Antoinette, Julia, and Amelia.

A Virtual Memorial Service shall be arranged, with the details to be announced in due time. The celebration of her life will be conducted under the spiritual guidance of Rev. Lawson Whitson from New Life Church of Jesus Christ, Concord, NC.

The Gianino family invites you to hold dear the blessed remembrance of Connie's unconditional love, her nurturing spirit, and her zealous dedication to those she held dear. Her unforgettable influence and memory will forever be enshrined in her lineage.

I remember Aunt Connie and Uncle Sam having family reunions and card parties for the adults. Aunt Connie would set us up with snacks and pop and told us to have fun. She told us if we didn´t know how to swim to stay away from the sea wall. She was a fun and loving aunt. -Bob Gianino

Connie was a joyful Christian who put her faith into action. We enjoyed her at Christian Lighthouse when we were members there and, later, she joined us at Crossroads Apostolic Church in Howell. Her smile and her friendship meant so much to us. We love you Connie! - Jo Ann & Dennis Cook

Mom, there are no words to describe the wonderful life you gave to me and the love you gave, taught and lived! I miss you more than I ever could have known, but you knew! You told me how you still miss your Mom everyday! The memories you left me, the wonderful life you gave so selflessly will never be forgotten, but revered and I will do my best to love like you loved me! Rest on my sweet Momma! I love you more!
