We still miss Courtney. What a great guy. JUST last night Rick and I watched a movie that had a lot of 60's songs in it. Rick said to me, "You know who would have loved this movie? Courtney." He loved his music and knew it all.

I won’t repeat my fondest memory of Coach but found myself thinking about him yesterday. It was a surprise to see a remembrance of him this morning. But couldn’t help but smile. Know he is still making impacts even though he is gone.

Hi Karen ...dont know if you remember me but I met you years ago at Picollo...I live at Eagle Lake CA and saw Courtneys obituary as I was looking for another friends. I am so sad for your loss and I know that people move away and move on with their lives but I always thought of you as very special!!! I remember being at the store one day and I had all 3 of my kids with me and they were most likely being obnoxious and you looked at me and said hey Mary I am convinced that 1child is great! I think of Picollo days often and wonder how you are ...take care, Mary

Courtney was a class act--a great teacher, a great coach, and a real gentleman. We taught together at Reed High School, and I remember him coming into the band room on a Saturday morning just because he could hear piano music as he passed on the way to the gym. He leaned in and said, "It sure sounds beautiful." That was Courtney. My condolences to his family and those closest to him. He touched many lives. I was so sad to hear this news.

Coach Bossert. Very sorry to read of your passing. I always appreciated you coaching me in the weight room and on the track. You even carried me off the volleyball court when I sprained my ankle severly.
You were always wonderful to everyone. Prayers to you and your family

I am sorry for your families loss. Having been one of his students for three years at McQueen, he provided us with great examples of goal setting and performance improvement, shaping us to be better young men . He had a true passion for his kids and i will always be indebted to Coach Bossert for carrying me like baby, for about 200 yards after I sprang my ankle during PE class. May your family find peace in a life well lived.

As a Rebel, Courtney Bossert exemplified his classy and classic work ethic for others to follow on and off the field. Personally, I appreciated his intense concentration on identifying, analyzing and resolving personal and educational issues within the university setting. I have to believe Nevada's high school students were blessed with his presence in and out of the classroom, as well. He was truly a gentleman with an discrete edgy side. I am saddened, but I can envision my father and Courtney in a better place while hoisting beer and sharing high school teaching stories.

110 mph, flat out in Courtney's Camaro on a trip to catch a UNLV game in Vegas, I think we did it in five and a half hours, only got stopped once and you got out of the ticket with your silver tongue! Great times my friend! Thank you for being such an important mentor to me in our profession of teaching and coaching! You made a great impact on so many young lives and colleagues!

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:
"...Lives of great men all remind us, we can make our lives sublime, and, departing, leave behind us, footprints on the sands of time..."
Thanks coach. So many footprints left for us to remember.

I met Courtney our sophomore year in high school when I dated his best friend Gary. I not only had one boyfriend but I got Courtney and Skip for friends too. We all hung around together and had so much fun. We have remained friends for almost 50 years now. Even going our separate ways didn't change our friendship and the love and respect we had for each other. Court was always so kind to me and would give me the biggest smile and the best hugs whenever he saw me. I am going to miss that smile and the great hugs. Courtney will have a special place in my heart along with our friends Kevin and Cliff. I am sure they are all together on a beach somewhere smiling down on all of us. Hugs and Love to Karen and Shelby

Courtney and I were on the faculty at McQueen High School. He also coached my daughter Renee in track and my son Tony in football. So I was able to see this fine man as a fellow educator and as a parent. I feel very fortunate for that. His caring and sensitive ways meant a lot. I know that my children are as saddened as I am about his death. Please accept our deepest sympathies. We hope the many memories you have will help you now and in the future.

I was a dreadful student at O'Brien. I was also a very bull - headed child! I drove this man to distraction on more than one occasion! I cut his PE class for two weeks. (I attended all other classes.) On the beginning of the third week, he caught up to me. I'm certain he was mad enough to bite through a nail! However, he was stern but kind. He said, "Show me where you have been hiding . . . . NOW!" I showed him my hiding spot. He firmly stated, "You WILL be in PE tomorrow." I attended every class after that.
Coach Bossert will be missed. He undoubtedly benefitted countless students through is kindness, knowledge and ability to be stern when needed.
Thank you Coach Bossert!!
