Courtney Lee Ann George, 17, of Pottsville, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at Russellville. She was born April 4, 1987, at Little Rock, Arkansas to Raymond Burton George and Kathie Diane Boucher Norris. She attended Pottsville Schools through the eleventh grade, when she began home schooling. She attended and was baptized at First Assembly of God at Russellville. She enjoyed baseball, softball, and basketball. She was preceded in death by her father; and paternal great grandparents, Troy and Marjorie George. Survivors include her paternal grandparents and lifelong guardians, David and Shelby George of Pottsville; her mother, Kathie Norris of Sherwood, Arkansas; a sister, Whitney George of Pottsville; maternal grandmother, Norma Davis of Sherwood; an aunt, Lee Ann George of Pottsville; an uncle and aunt, William and Susie George of Pottsville; a great aunt, Selma Vines of Paron, Arkansas; four cousins, Taylor, Garrett, Jillian, and Kennith George all of Pottsville; and a close and dear friend, Theresa McPherson. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Paul Northcut officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be Kennith George, Dustin Colvin, Frankie Colvin, Steven Turner, Steven Colvin, and Jimmy Hart. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill George. Visitation will be 7 - 8 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association; 212 Natural Resources Drive; Little Rock, Arkansas 72205-1573.
