Craig Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2025.
Craig Richard Miller, 72, passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 8, 2025, in Succasunna, New Jersey. Born in 1953, in Nutley, New Jersey to Grace and Robert Miller, Craig grew up with four brothers who helped instill a sense of adventure in him. He lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and a deep devotion to his family, friends, and loved ones.

Craig was a proud graduate of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics/Computer Science as part of the Class of 1975. It was also at Susquehanna that he met his future wife, Pat, beginning a loving partnership that would span 49 years. A lifelong enthusiast of numbers, Craig found deep fulfillment in tutoring others in math, always eager to share his knowledge and help others succeed

Craig was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for golfing with his friends and a deep appreciation of music, which comforted him and his family in his final moments. But above all else, he cherished time spent with his family. Whether playing with his grandchildren or making memories at Sebago Lake in Maine, which held a special place in his heart-Craig's happiest moments were those shared with loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat (Shaughnessy) Miller; his son Christopher and wife Maria, his son Mike and wife Christine; and his daughter Stacey. He was a proud grandfather to Caroline, Nora, Audrey, Paige, and Ryan. Craig also leaves behind his brothers David and John.

He was predeceased by his parents Grace and Robert; brothers Bob and Bruce; and father-in-law Robert Shaughnessy.

Craig's natural ability to connect with people made him a treasured presence wherever he went. He had an ease about him that invited conversation and trust-traits that endeared him to many. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held July 19th, 2025 from 1-4pm at Black River Barn located at 1178 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ 07869. Please dress in casual attire as the event is outdoors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society and Sebago Clean Waters.

May Craig's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness and connection in the lives he touched.

This a shocking loss to everyone that knew Craig. I worked and spent some great times outside of the office with him. He tutored our 3 boys in his love of math and although they just did not "get it" all the time he left our house with a smile. My sincere condolences to the entire Miller extended family.

So sorry to hear about Craig's passing. He was a wonderful CGI colleague and great mentor. I remember his background photo on his work laptop was his boat on the lake. I was able to see that setting in person for a visit to NJ in August 2009 where Craig hosted our CGI leadership team. Great memories. He will be missed!
