Crisostomo (Cris) San Jose Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 30, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Crisostomo R. San Jose at the age of 82 on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Crisostomo (some know him as Tom or Cris) was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a cherished brother, and a beloved uncle. His unwavering faith in God and his deep love for his family defined his life and left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Cris leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, his children, and his precious grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love, joy, and resilience. He will also be lovingly remembered by countless relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

Born in the Philippines as the youngest of 11 children, Cris grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large and close-knit family. He is now reunited in peace with his parents and nine of his siblings, who preceded him in death.

Cris dedicated many years to his professional life, retiring with pride from both AT&T and the State of Illinois Department of Revenue. Beyond his career, he was a vibrant presence in every room he entered-known for his humor, infectious energy, and his youthful spirit. He delighted in connecting with new people and brought joy wherever he went.

An adventurer at heart, Cris cherished traveling the world, but his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren, dancing, singing karaoke, tending to his yard, and creating lasting memories with those he loved most.

Final committal and inurnment of his ashes were held in a private ceremony with immediate family at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois on January 2, 2025. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on in the laughter, love, and stories that his family and friends will carry forward.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. As he used to say, "It's the end of an era."
