Cristin Coleman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 2 to Sep. 7, 2022.
Cristin Andrea Coleman
October 12, 1983 - June 27, 2022
The Coleman family is deeply saddened to report that, after living with breast cancer for many months, Cristin Coleman passed away peacefully at her home in San Francisco, on June 27, 2022, surrounded by her family that loved her "to the moon and back," as she would say. Cristin was the light of our lives, a beautiful human being who touched so many hearts. We are as grateful for her life as we are devastated by her loss.
Cristin was born in Orange County and lived in Irvine until age ten, when the family moved to Santa Rosa. There she attended Matanzas Elementary School, Slater Middle School and Montgomery High School, graduating in 2001. She went on to UC Davis, where she earned her B.A. in Child Development in 2006 and made the decision to become an educator, following in the footsteps of her parents. After obtaining a teaching credential from Dominican University in 2009, Cristin taught in the Belmont and Mill Valley School Districts. Cristin was a gifted teacher and a natural leader, and she decided to become a school principal, earning a Master's Degree and credential in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University in 2016. Along the way, she found time to become a certified yoga instructor and mindfulness teacher. Cristin was selected to be the principal at Washington Elementary School in Burlingame in 2018. She successfully guided the school through a facility renovation and the challenges of "home learning" during the pandemic, inspiring everyone with her positive attitude, bravery and hard work. She is beloved by her students and their families, her teachers and staff members, her colleagues and her communities. They mourn her loss deeply.
Cristin was a bundle of love, joy, quick wit and creative energy who accomplished amazing things in her life. She had a keen intelligence and a kind, compassionate way - a "lightness of being" - that enabled her to navigate life gracefully, always looking for ways to help and support others. The cards and letters she and her family received over the past months from friends, colleagues, students and families are filled with gratitude for her kindness, compassion, inspirational leadership and her beautiful spirit.
Cristin threw herself into living with cancer. She created her #Believe campaign, a collection of loving and supportive family, friends, colleagues and members of the Washington school community who were behind her every step of the way. During her illness, Cristin never expressed anger or self-pity, but she was deeply sad to be leaving all of us so soon and for causing us to grieve. She was profoundly grateful to everyone for all the love and support she received. It was never about her.
It was about love - love for her family, her friends, her hundreds of students and their families and her many professional colleagues. Cristin told us she wasn't afraid to die, because she was leaving all her love to us, the lucky ones whose lives and hearts she touched.
Cristin is survived by her husband Tim Lincecum, parents Randy and Sue Coleman, sister Shannon McGee (Jason), nephew Liam McGee, and her French Bulldog, Charley Bean, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and loyal friends.
Cristin was diagnosed with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer, one of the least common and most difficult types to treat. It is her wish â€" and the family's â€" that contributions be made to the UCSF Breast Cancer Research Center at the web link below. We have set up a special page that will direct all donations to Triple-Negative Breast Cancer research in Cristin's name. Thank you very much.

Cristin and I (Jalynne Crawford) had an immediate connection. We met through baseball, Tim and Brandon were teammates. We both shared passion for education and loved talking about this together. She was a dear friend that I enjoyed having a connection with. Her smile lit up every room she walked into. Her heart always shined onto everyone she met. Her kindness will forever be remembered. I miss you forever and always. Sending all of my love to heaven and back. Praying for her family.

Cristin and I met when our husbands were teammates. We instantly connected in the stands, both growing up in the Northern California, and having mutual friends! In life, and beyond, she will will continue to be a blessing to all of her friends, family and everyone she touched in her job as an educator. She will forever be a part of the Giants family, and I thank God that we had the opportunity to meet so my life could be touched by someone so special. She is intelligent, beautiful and compassionate, and we should all strive to be like her! We love you Cristin!

I had the honor of attending Dominican University with Cristin in 2009. Her humor and light I will always remember. She and I shared many laughs during the credential program. I am deeply saddened that she is gone, but know she passed on a beautiful light to all whom she came across.
My sincere condolences to her family.

I remember a sunny, smiling face and bright blonde hair on the happiest little girl when I met Cristin at Matanzas elementary school. Her sharp wit and easy going way is something I never forgot about her. It doesn´t surprise me at all that she was so very successful in life.

Deepest Condolences to the Coleman and Lincecum family.
Cristin entered WES the same year that my daughter entered kindergarten. She is the best principal that I ever met. She remembers every student´s name, greets every parents whom she´d meets and uplifts everyone with her beautiful smile. Like Timmy, she is "freakin" amazing. A beautiful person.
