Cynthia (Cindy) Camp, age 62, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away 1/23/2022, in hospice care at home surrounded by family and close friends. Cynthia was born in Opelika, AL, and was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Lee Camp. She is survived by her husband Bhaskar Thapa, her mother, Martha Camp, and her sister, Leslie Camp, as well as by her stepson, Anil Thapa, and his wife, Melissa.
Cindy, a 1977 graduate of Peachtree High School in Atlanta, earned a Bachelor’s in Business at the University of Georgia. She was an avid Bulldog fan and was so excited to see the Dawgs win their first National Championship since her days at Georgia.
Cynthia spent most of her career with Macy’s (previously Rich’s), the last 15+ years with Macy’s Technology Group where she made many friends across the country and world and touched many lives every day.
Cynthia enjoyed cooking and trying new methods she learned watching the many cooking shows on the Food Network. She also had quite the flair for decorating for all holidays whether Christmas, Valentine’s Day Easter or Halloween!
Services will be held at SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society at 255 Curie Dr., Suite 100, Alpharetta, GA 30005 on Saturday 1/29/2022 at 2:00 PM. Flowers can be sent to Southcare. Masks are requested.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Cynthia’s commitment to supporting FurKids Animal Rescue and Shelter, the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for rescued dogs, you might consider making a donation in her name at https://furkids.org/donation.
Cynthia was also a strong proponent of clean ocean efforts and supported the 4Ocean Pound+ Program. This program enables members of the clean ocean movement to directly fund the removal of trash from the ocean, rivers, and coastlines.
