Cynthia A. Dumont

BOW - Cynthia A. (Block) Dumont, 62, of Bow, died Oct. 31, 2012, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., after a period of declining health.She was born in St. Peter, Minn., on July 9, 1950 to William and Mary (MacEachern) Block. She earned a bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College and a master of arts degree in counseling psychology from Antioch College in Keene. She was a certified cognitive behavioral therapist.Cynthia had a passion and love for animals. She worked for many years as a private caretaker of dogs and cats. An avid reader, she also had a connectedness to the ocean, beaches and seagulls. She was active in her retirement community, including photographing community events.The family includes a daughter, Teresa Slazas and her husband, Martin, of Manchester; three grandchildren, Faith Slazas, Martin Slazas and Jennifer Slazas; her father, William H. Block of Tilton; three siblings, Mary Jane Fosher of Barrington, Robert Block of Weare and Teresa McGuigan and her husband, Robert, of Hooksett; and cousins, nieces, nephews and a circle of close friends.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John Church, 72 South Main St., Concord.
