Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Thompson Fagan went to be with the Lord surrounded by her husband, son, sister, brother-in-law and faithful caretaker on August 28, 2017 in Safety Harbor, Florida succumbing to A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s disease). She fought valiantly and was hopeful up to the end for healing but the Lord was ready for her to come home.
Cindy was born in Beckley, West Virginia. She was an alumnus of the Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1975 where she played volleyball, was a member of the esteemed marching band where she played trumpet and was chosen as a majorette. Cindy was also honored by being chosen as home coming queen her senior year. She still has so very many friends in Beckley as well as Jupiter/West Palm Beach, Florida where she moved to in 1979. Cindy’s family eventually joined her in Florida where they all still reside.
West Virginia University was her first choice of higher education but she decided a different course and was accepted at the Atlanta Art Institute where she graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. Her true love and calling was being a Montessori teacher for 30+ years where she touched so many young 2, 3 and 4 year olds teaching them their colors, how to read, how to get along with others sitting on circle with Miss Cindy. No matter where she went in the community, grocery store, drug store, church, there was someone calling out, Miss Cindy, Miss Cindy and running to give her a hug.
Family has always been so important to Cindy and she will be so very missed by her husband, Larry Fagan, son, Dr. Nicholas Player, mother, Libby Thompson, sister, Beth Thompson Fike, brother-in-law, Randy Fike, nephews, Troy and Ian Fike, daughter-in-law, Erica Player, and her most precious new addition, Madelyn Player, who just turned 2 in September.
Cindy’s Life Celebration Service will be Saturday, August 30, 2017 at noon at the First Baptist Church of Tequesta. Extending my most heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Beth, I've been looking for you for years on FB. Libby, I'm so sorry for your loss. This is not fair as she was such a beautiful person inside and out.
