Cynthia Leonard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 3, 2017.
Cynthia (Cyndi) Gruver Leonard, 58, passed away surrounded by family on March 1, 2017, after a long illness. She was born August 23, 1958, at Chaumont Air Force Base, France, to Neill and Donna Gruver, while her father was stationed there. As the family moved around in the Military, she attended schools in seven different cities, graduating from Hillcrest High School in Dalzell, South Carolina.

She married Harry Walton Biller in 1976. Their daughter, Kia Joliene, was born in Newport News, Virginia. They later relocated to Bastrop, Texas, where their son Cody was born (St David's Medical Center in Austin, TX).

Cyndi worked as a bookkeeper and in garden shops while the children completed their education. She also started and ran her own successful landscaping business, Eden's Gardener; where she custom designed landscapes for many beautiful homes in the Austin area, until accident related injuries slowed her down. Cyndi loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens at home in Cedar Creek, even after she was unable to work. She was a proud owner of many loved and well behaved pets over the years.

Cyndi enjoyed spending time surrounded by the beauty of nature. She particularly liked star gazing, watching the sunset, and walking along the beach, which inspired her to write poetry and create cards and stationary. She spent a great deal of time outdoors, camping and hiking, as well.

Cyndi married Leland Leonard in 2006. They spent free time fishing and enjoyed many visits to local lakes and the Port Aransas area.

Cyndi was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Mae Gruver.

She will be missed by her husband, Leland Leonard of Cedar Creek, Texas; daughter, Kia Joliene Biller of Austin, TX; son, Cody Walton Biller (Kori) of Houston, TX; three wonderful grandchildren, Kingsley, Beverly and Sterlin; her father, Neill Gruver of Austin, TX; brother, Daniel Gruver (Lisa) of Round Rock, Texas; and brother, Richard Gruver (Theresa) of Georgetown, Texas, as well as her niece, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be given to the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center 4801 La Crosse Ave Austin, TX 78739 or the charity of your choice.
