Cynthia McNair Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2025.
Cynthia Lynn McNair (née Killingback, formerly Greficz), 67, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed on November 15, 2024.

Born on August 16, 1957, Cindy, as she was known by family and friends, spent many years of her life in Lincoln Park, where she graduated from Lincoln Park High School and worked as a union laborer in the construction industry. Cindy also spent many years in Mulga, Alabama, with her family and late-husband, Marty McNair.

Whether in Michigan or Alabama, Cindy could be found watching any football game she could, cheering on Alabama (Roll Tide!) and the Philadelphia Eagles. She would enthusiastically call or text family and friends during the games to celebrate touchdowns and admonish the refs' bad calls. Mexican Village and Olga's were two of her favorite restaurants - she was always up for lunch or dinner!

Cindy was a loving mother to her three sons: Alexander (Misty), Nicholas (Amanda), and William (Monica) Greficz, and proud Nana/Grandma to her 5 grandkids. Cynthia's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She cherished watching Alicianna dance; playing, coloring, and doing puzzles with Mason and Valencia; and visits and calls with Annabelle and Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Killingback and Thelma Sue Taylor; her older brother, Sherman Killingback; and her husband, Marty McNair. She is survived by her younger brother, Ray Killingback.

Cynthia will be remembered for her warm heart and the love she poured into her family. Her boys will always love her, bigger than the sky and the whole wide world.

Cindy was a great person. My time spent with her I will never forget. One day I went to her son´s house before we were going somewhere. I will never forget that day. I spent about an hour sitting on the end of her bed talking to her about football and life, it was a genuine moment. At that moment I realized Cindy was like me, she accepted people for who they are. Those people are hard to find these days and I´m grateful I found her. On top of that, she is my best friend´s mom, which made her like a mom to me. We would call her while hanging out and check on her and talk about football and life. She was always open minded and supportive even if our ideas sounded crazy lol. Those times will forever be in my memories of Cindy and I´m grateful for that. To end, I just want to say that if you ever wonder if a gun u have will shoot just aim it at the tv lol. Love u Cindy, rest in peace. Bryan Patton
