Dakota Lee Hendrix

Mr. Dakota Lee Hendrix, age 17, of Red Top Road, Ferguson died Wednesday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service will be Sunday 3:30 PM, October 10, 2010 at Tom Dooley Amphitheater at Fort Hamby Park. Dakota was born November 18, 1992 in Caldwell County to Paula Hendrix. He was a student at West Wilkes High School, where he was a member of the West High School Band, the Student Council, an assistant in the library and a Black Hawk Buddy. Dakota was a part of the Upward Bound Program. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Boy Scout Troop #325 and Order of the Arrow. During his years at West Middle School, he was on the school track team. Dakota was a member of Crossfire United Methodist Church. He is survived by: his mother, Paula Hendrix of the home; two brothers, David Sanders of the home, Dustin Morton of Florida and one sister, Whisper Morton of Florida.
