Dale Carlisle June 2, 1910 - April 6, 2004 Dale Carlisle, 93 of Benicia, passed away Tuesday morning to be with his Lord. He passed away at home following a brief illness. A native of Nebraska, Mr. Carlisle has lived in Benicia for fifteen years, prior to that he lived in Concord. He was a self-employed painter and paperhanger. He also owned Dale's Sharpening Service, where he enjoyed sharpening knives, scissors and tools. He enjoyed traveling around the world and target practice and was a member of Calvary Community Church in Benicia. Mr. Carlisle was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea Grace Carlisle, on October 29, 1987. Survivors include his 2nd wife, Agnes of Benicia, daughters, Bonnie (Harold) Wilson of Grand Junction, CO, Rosemary (Ray) Peterson of Pleasant Hill, Toni (Jerry) Swayne of Cobb, Jennie (David) Digruttolo of Cobb, son, Frank (Beverly) Carlisle of Pleasant Hill, step-daughter, Jeannie Longworth of Benicia, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday at Calvary Community Church, Benicia with pastor Jerry Pollard officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be held from 3-8pm Thursday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd St., Benicia, CA 94510. Contributions in Dale's memory can be sent to the Community Calvary Church, Benicia or the Contra Costa Hospice Program.
