Dale Lynn Collins, 68, of Mullins passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 11, 2022. He was born in Mullins, South Carolina on February 7, 1954, the son of the late Gary B. Collins and the late Mary Ford Collins.
Dale loved his family, and there was nothing he loved more than to gather with them, eat, and fellowship together. His greatest love was for his wife, Dottie, who he had been married to for the past forty-eight years. An outdoors enthusiast, he enjoyed boating, riding four wheelers and side by sides. Prior to his illness, Dale had worked with his brother, Buddy, at Collins Motors for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family and his chocolate lab, Gage.
In addition to his parents, Dale was predeceased by a brother, Thelbert Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Ard Collins of Mullins; two brothers, Winston Collins (Rebecca) of West Columbia and Buddy Collins (Jane) of Mullins, two sisters, Kaye Bradley of Nichols and Deanna Simons (Gill) of Georgetown; numerous nieces and nephews, along with great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 at Red Hill Memorial Gardens with Reverend Travis Leasure officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
If you would like to remember Dale, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284 or at www.heart.org.
An online guestbook is available at www.mearesfh.com.
Dale is in the care of Meares Funeral Home of Mullins.

Dale you are going to be missed. I enjoyed it when you called me trying to get up with the plumber because his name was Charles and mine was Charlene. Always loved to argue with you when I went by Collins motors. Had many fine years as classmates at Floyd’s high. Class of 72 was an awesome class but our time is coming to an end and our beginning is going to be glorious. Heaven is our next home. Missed but never will you be forgotten. You went home the day after your anniversary. You and Dottie were married same day same year as me and Terry 48 years ago. Love you big Dale.
