HERTA K.
On Jan. 19, 2006, Herta K. Franz, 90, of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born February 19, 1915 in Brux, Austria. She was the daughter of the late Rudolf and Anna Kraupe Kraus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Karl H. Franz in 2001. They were married in Harbel, Libera, West Africa in 1952, where they lived with their children until 1966, when they moved to Pittsburgh. She graduate college in Austria. She was a Roman Catholic. She was a certified teacher, a gifted linguist, world traveler and accomplished classical pianist. She is survived by a daughter, Corrine Franz Ishler, Palm Bay, FL, a son, Cornell C. Franz, Ardara, Pa., five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Edgar Kraus. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. Father Robert A. Moray officiating. The family will receive friends at the ANDREW K. COFFMAN FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
