Daddy - My heart is aching, I miss you so very much. Everything has changed now that you are gone. Sunday afternoon's are empty - that was OUR TIME to talk. It was terrible when Mom left us but the pain is overwhelming now.

I truely hope both you and Mom are happy and pain free in God's house. You are loved by so many - you will never be forgotten.

All my love always,
Barb

To the family of John Witzel ~ How saddened we at the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) were to learn of John's recent passing. On behalf of the entire staff, please accept our heartfelt condolences.

John was the first Chief Deputy Director of CalHFA, hired by then-Executive Director Karney Hodge in 1987 and served in that capacity for five years. He was highly regarded and respected by his many friends and co-workers here and is remembered as a man with a very engaging personality and quick wit, as well as a very competitive golfer.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.

Dear Witzel Family,
My heart is heavy with sadness at hearing about the passing of John. He was a bright light and savior to me when he went to work for the Calif Housing Finance Agency and I was given the privilege of being his secretary. He rescued me from an unhappy situation and gave me opportunities I never knew existed. He was a man who was always fair to everyone and very compassionate and caring. John always had a smile for everyone and certainly brightened my days, whether making me laugh in some way or just smiling and asking how I was. I was sorry to see him leave CHFA but knew he was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with his family and golfing of course. The world will not be the same without this beautiful man in it. I know his family and friends will miss him so very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dad,
As tears stream down my cheeks I am so saddened by your passing. My heart has been broken into so many pieces. You were a father that all children would have been lucky to have had. You had warm and open arms when I needed a hug and comforting and you were my strength and knowlegde when I needed fatherly advice. I will forever be missing a piece of my heart without you. My only consulation is that you are now free of pain and illness and that you are once again able to be with the love of your life - mom. All my love to both of you for ever and ever.
