Dan Cavanaugh, age 74, passed away on 06/22/2015. He is survived by LaVonne Cavanaugh his loving wife of 55 years, his children Theresa (Jerry Anderson), William, Michael (Liane), Daniel, Brian (Tim Traffie), ten grandchildren, one brother, eight sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Veronica Cavanaugh, one brother and two sisters.

Dan was born on 1/29/1941 in Mishicot, WI and attended Plainview High School. After high school Dan served in the military working for the National Security Agency and then graduated from Winona State University. After college, Dan went to work at Lakeside Foods for 39 years and retired in 2005 as Senior Vice President. Dan was involved in many activities including the Plainview City Council, Board Member of National Meat Canners Association, President of Midwest Food Processors, Gopher Point Officer, Rice Lake Area Men's Club Secretary/Treasurer as well as many other organizations.

The family will have sharing of memories at Burnham-Ours funeral home in Chetek, WI. Please see www.burnhamours.com for details. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Michael Daniel Cavanaugh Foundation, a memorial that funds academic scholarships.

Millie and I would like to express our deepest sympathies to Lavonne and all the Cavanaugh family. Dan was an energetic person and gave life a full measure in all that he did. We remember him well as a great athlete and leader during the years we shared with him in High School.
