Dan Fetterer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 3, 2011.
Dan Fetterer, age 62, of Sheboygan, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at St. Nicholas Hospital. Dan, son of Fred and Marie (Lamb) Fetterer, was born Jan. 10, 1949, in Sheboygan. Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Margaret Gill on June 19, 1971 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church.

He was a lifelong member of St. Dominic's and enjoyed serving with his fellow ushers. Dan attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from North High School in 1967. He then attended LTC and graduated with a machinist degree. Dan was employed by the H.G. Weber Company as a journeyman machinist for 36 years, retiring on March 31 of this year. He enjoyed working around his home and had a knack of being able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, biking and following the weather, but riding his Harley truly brought joy to his soul.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Fetterer, Sheboygan; wife, Margaret; three sons, Robert (Michelle) Fetterer, Cary, Ill.; John (Lynn) Fetterer, Edgerton, Wis.; Doug Fetterer and Cindy Struck, Saukville, Wis.; two sisters, Fae Karl and Elizabeth Klub, both of Sheboygan; sister-in-law, Liz Senkbeil, Sheboygan; brother-in-law, Bill (Barb) Gill, Sheboygan; sister-in-law, Kate Gill and Bill Branson, Clearwater, Minn.; and brother-in-law, Tom (Lisa) Gill, Oak Park, Ill. Dan was further survived by many loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and nephew, Mark Reif.

Family and friends may call at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2113 N. 22nd St., Sheboygan, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Alan Veik officiating. Burial to follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Sheboygan, with VFW Post #9156 providing military rites.

I was sorry to hear of dan's passing. I remember him standing on the sidelines of countless soccer games and practices, and seeing john and I off on our trips back to uwec after our weekends at home. I will also never forget running into him at the mini-mart back in july of 2007. I had not see him in years and he recognized me and offered me condolences on my dad's passing just a few days prior. My family's thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
